PETITION HERE
Adrian is a friend of mine I met at a regular local punk gig called “Punkfest” here in Brisbane. He was taking his son Tevin out to show him the Aussie punk scene as he was over from the UK. He is so lovely - He just came over and introduced himself to a group of us and as we got talking, he began to tell us about Niamh his daughter.
Adrian is a family oriented man and doesn’t want them to be separated. He told us, “Australia is our home, but the government won’t let us move here.” This is because his daughter Niamh is deaf and has autism so the government won’t let them move here due to the cost of hospital care.
Let me just recite some of the lines from our national anthem for a minute:
For those who’ve come across the seas
We’ve boundless plains to share,
With courage let us all combine
To advance Australia fair.
To not accept someone for their special needs isn’t right. The family is so lovely and Adrian has contacted radio stations, news papers and television shows right across the UK and Australia.
Please support Niamh, Adrian and the rest of their family by signing this petition and passing it on.
