Top four vegan places to eat in Brisbane
I wouldn’t say Brisbane is known for its extensive vegan restaurants, but the ones we do have are pretty damn amazing. Here is my top four which I think are great.
Govinda’s Vegetarian Restaurant
99 Elizabeth Street, Brisbane
The Green Edge
3/191 Wardell Street, Enoggera
Kuan Yin Tea House
198 Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley
The Forest Food Lounge
124 Boundary Street, West End QLDI know some people find the idea of an all vegetarian or vegan restaurant off-putting, but these places make some of the tastiest food in Brisbane, and are extremely healthy and pretty cheap too.
Here is an extended list of vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Brisbane, compiled by the Vegetarian Society of Queensland. I personally love Govindas for their epicly filling feast, but Kuan Yin Tea House has always had my heart for their delicate combination of flavours, kind and benevolent owners, and for almost convincing me that I was eating real fish made out of soy bean.
Green Edge is great, they have a wide selection of groceries too. Also, another one for Fortitude Valley is 5 dogs - located in the mall/ McWhirter’s building. They’re not a vegan-only place but they do a vegan hot dog and last I heard, they were going to introduce vegan nachos.
If you’re willing to head out of the CBD, Loving Hut at Mt Gravatt is really awesome too.
